Who can we trust? Whose words will rescue us?
C Magazine, 2018, v. 139, pp. 8-9
In this short creative writing piece, Allen recalls growing up in Jamaica and how trust was a currency more prevalent than cash. Allen speaks how today's world has lost its sense of accountability and trust no longer plays an integral role in society. She draws comparisons to a fable where someone asks for God's help, only to refute it when it doesn't immediately manifest.
