Maria Walsh examines the film Mono Lake in detail by making connections with the current pandemic. While structurally considering the film, Walsh highlights that the aesthetic creation of the film probes the planetary by recalibrating distance and proximity in relation to space and time beyond human measure, all of which gets spun out in a web of human friendship and affection.
