This publication, produced in conjunction with Vtape's annual Curatorial Incubator titled A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Brat, finds its curators reflecting on and revising the 1916 Modernist novel by James Joyce, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, for contemporary audiences.
Through their essays the curators tackle the instability that is caused through the attempt to adjust to capitalism. Daniella E. Sanader's programme acts as what in her words is a "crisis-mode training session". Adam Barbu delves into humour and discomfort over cause and effect, and Shauna Jean Doherty reflects on Rosalind Krauss's axiom about video and narcissism.
