This edition of The Curatorial Incubator finds curator Julia Paoli discovering the work of Aleesa Cohene.

Cohene's video work spans from 2001 to the present day and compiles found footage from the 1980s and 1990s. Topics of her work range from the role of history and popular culture in the formation of contemporary identity. Her work utilizes the tradition of appropriation as she re-contextualizes footage to re-write history.
