Queer Looks: Perspectives on Lesbian and Gay Film and Video edited by Martha Gever, John Greyson, and Pratibha Parmar brings together a collection of essays focused on visual representations of identity. The featured essays adopt an intersectional perspective to analyze how race, gender, and sexuality are coded in film and video. The authors address a variety of topics including the AIDS crisis, diasporic networks, and experimental techniques. Throughout the anthology there is consideration to audience experience and the consequences of artistic production. Queer Looks engages with a range of film theories and hybrid aesthetics.
