In "A Brief History of the Dancer/Camera Relationship" Christopher Lewis-Smith examines the onscreen and offscreen relationships between dancers and camera operators throughout film history. Lewis-Smith analyzes examples ranging from early screendances to present day films, observing in the process that the divide between dancer/camera is more easily bridged in small scale productions in comparison to those of a larger scale.
