The Pig's Tail
Montréal: articule, 1998
ISBN 2-920306-07-0
Short story by Montreal based artist Nelson Henricks who writes from the perspective of a pig as he goes about his everyday life. The story’s setting includes his apartment in an un-named city (presumably Montréal), and a friend’s apartment who is hosting a potluck. To the host’s horror, one guest brings a salad containing bacon. Here and throughout the story, the reader is given access to the pig’s inner monologue: "I was too embarrassed to tell her that I actually like the taste of bacon". Themes include "modern love and sexual conundrums which are subtly probed in this hilarious and wry short prose work." (Quote taken from the Art Metropole website.) Contains illustrations by the artist.
