"Expanded Standard Timeline is an anthology of essays from thirteen Canadian artists-writers-activists. Edited by Calgary artist and catalyst Grant Poier, the book features seven texts that were commissioned for EMMEDIA’s Twenty-Fifth Anniversary in 2005, a wealth of shared memories and information. This book is crucial in that it not only examines the history of Electronic Media Art in Calgary and Canada, but it also shares our stories and models with a broader constituency. The publication serves as a resource for a new generation of artists and participants, providing background context, hard-earned knowledge and encouragement, and we hope, an awareness of the base on which they can stand and build.
