Biennale of Sydney: Every Day
Canadian Art, Winter 1998, pp. 82-85
Review of the 25th Biennale of Sydney, an international variety exhibition including the work of 101 artists from 28 countries. Each work falls under the theme "Every Day," exploring the different potential meanings of the term and the questions- or conclusions- it might generate. Holubizky reflects on the varying levels of effectiveness of the works, ranging from "thought-provoking" to "barely solicit[ing] a turned head." Special attention is paid to the work of Germaine Koh and Kelly Mark.
