The Video and Film by Artists Series: Rebel Girls
The National Gallery of Canada, 1989
The Video and Film by Artists Series: Rebel Girls is a program of screenings, installations, lectures, and special events in the media arts presented by The National Gallery of Canada. Events took place February 14-May 21, 1989.
"The exhibition Rebel Girls focuses on artists who are informed by a critical understanding of the political aesthetics of feminism and on videotapes that analyse, critique, and examine a wide variety of feminist issues. The form of the work ranges from experimental narratives made by individual artists to gritty black-and-white documentaries produced by collectives." (Taken from p.1)
