"This group exhibition, exploring the themes of movement and confinement, depicts the Indigenous world through the lens of modes of transportation (vehicles, bicycles, airplanes, etc.) and the spiritual journey within the world of art. This Indigenous perspective on the concept of movement is coupled with a sensory experience of time and space: driving on the dirt roads of the reserves, leaving a rural area for an urban one, and navigating the interstitial space between those two parallel worlds. the many ways of traveling reflect a socioeconomic reality, a political identity, and cultural practice. The artists presented here understand their world by producing a personal, complex, and elaborate description of the relationship between individuals and the land."
