by Sandra Martin

The Globe and Mail, May 8, 2002, pp. R1, R5

Sandra Martin offers word on her relationship with northern Canadian culture, one she first experienced through documentaries. She alludes to the changes the northern communities have made due to their embrace of western culture. She refers to Atanarjuat (the fast runner) a film set in the artic past, but one made presently by the Inuit, and only possible with the embrace of the cultures to their far south.
