This text is the introduction written by for the "Digital Identity" exhibition catalogue, a group exhibition curated by Elizabeth Kidd and Liane Davison at Surrey Art Gallery. The exhibition was on view from October 24, 1999 to January 31, 2000.

"Digital Identity" was Surrey Art Gallery's "first exhibition exclusively featuring digital media and exploring the themes of identity and community.
