Nina Levitt: Divers et Differance
Parachute, Dec. Fall 2000, no. 100, pp. 141-150
In this article Corina Ghaznavi writes about the video installation work of Nina Levitt, Gravity and Duet. Levitt uses cinematic loops to fracture the nature of interpretation, and make visible the subtleties of a historical break that has taken place in Lesbian identity. Ghaznavi discusses Levitt's work in relation to Jacques Derrida's idea of Difference, and the loss of identity philosopher Slavoj Zizek describes as inherent to the process of identification.
