Re:Placing the Lost Memory or Re:Presenting Ourselves: The Question of Local Representation - Performance and Intermedia Activity in Calgary over the last eleven years
Parallelogramme, Dec. 1987, v. 12, no. 2, pp. 16 - 23
This article details the sense of isolation artists experienced in Calgary in the early 1970s. Sujir writes on the role isolation plays in terms of representation, and the formation of identity in this community. Sujir focuses on the achievements of W.O.R.K.S headed by Paul Woodrow and Clive Robertson, the Performance Focus festival, and various artist run centres including EMMedia (formerly Centre Art Video) that were created to fill a void in media resources with an intermedia focus rather than one that was video specific.
