Towards a Representation of Human: Only Human: Sex, Gender, and Other Misrepresentations
Video Guide, 1988, v. 9, no. 4, pp. 14-15
The Only Human exhibition was originally 24 hours long - an encyclopedia of questions addressed to the construction of sexuality. From Only Human, curated by Bill Horrigan and B. Ruby Rich, is a two hour exerpt which attempts to capture a range oppositional approaches to the representation of sexuality. The video works included begin to construct a new language and examine the one we now employ through suggestive strategies.
