Slapstick

Nelson Henricks

2026, 11:15 minutes, colour, English

TAPECODE 422.24

Inspired by slapstick comedy, Henricks explores the thin line between humour and violence. Quoting the films of Charlie Chaplin, Fassbinder, and Derek Jarman, the video features two dancers reinterpreting a series of short scenes. The work questions traditional masculinity and the power structures that exclude or harm marginalized people.
