The Mechanics of the Game is a follow up to Mr. Baxter’ Trip to a Parallel Universe made the year before where we see through a bird’s eye view, a city in another place. In The Mechanics of the Game, we are on the street. I thought of this as a single camera view of an average day street scene in the other D. You can tell by the architecture, that we are in the future, or in a funhouse, or… It’s kind of a working class, real, honest, look at what it’s like there. On the other side. Formally, the piece is about the pleasure that I get from making these places for you to go.
