Adapted from his book of the same name, filmmaker Ho Tam’s animated short translates his literary work into a striking visual collage constructed entirely from international banknotes. By animating the historical iconography, faces, and symbols printed on global currency, Tam crafts a humor-infused, mesmerizing backdrop for his narratives. Across five distinct vignettes, the film strips away the everyday familiarity of money to explore the intricate, often invisible boundaries governing gender politics, body image, global power dynamics, and the rights of humans and animals alike.
