Chance For Love - part 1 of Manufactured Romance

Anne Ramsden

1983, 30:00 minutes, colour, English

TAPECODE 036.00

This tape is part 1 of a 3 part series. The main character, Candie Cane, a writer of romance fiction, is attempting to write a more "realistic" kind of romance story, one which might include contemporary dilemmas a woman might find herself in (eg., having an abortion). Her publisher, Rick Hobbs, is not sympathetic to this. Simultaneously, Candie (divorced and lonely) joins a dating agency, in search of love.
The tape looks at female friendship, women's roles and occupations, traditional male/female relationships, cultural stereotypes and media formulations of these subjects.
