' Some of us are shy of mirrors, some of us have never had them,' explains Indian writer Firdaus Kanga, who sets out to find a mirror image and gains access to himself.
Pratibha Parmar's direction is dynamic, powerful and witty, dealing with a rich range of disabilities without guilt induction or patronage. The black poet who asserts he would rather die than have someone else make decisions for him is only one of the strong, self determined voices in the programme. The film noirish blue on the floating signer is effective, while the drama sequence featuring Nabil Shaban seducing another disabled man is utterly gripping and tender and begins to confront notions of the body beautiful and the tyrannies of perfection .... fab telly and one of the best things OUT has braved so far."
