Using his home as well as landscapes from his childhood as a backdrop, Dennis Day uses video techniques to insert a fictionalized fusion of his past and present. Auto Biography is a nostalgic world of fulfilled desire, inverted values and adult reminiscences. Romantic, surreal, defiant and wishful, the video jumps over the linearity of "growing up" to comment on gay identity in many of its real and imagined incarnations.
