Narcissus In Vein

Michael Milo

1990, 16:00 minutes, colour, English

Narcissus In Vein was created in collaboration with transexual Marilyn Pieronek. Milo and Peironek present a variety of fictionalized accounts stemming from Pieroneks' life. The work forms three movements: the first examines various forms of oral fixation/indulgence; the second is a voyeuristic look into the sex industry and questions the viewer's position in an environment of media exploitation; the last movement is a reprisal and presents a view of spirituality within the above context.
