Invasion Of Our Homeland

Liz MacDougall

1986, 31:00 minutes, colour, English

Canada's commitment under the NATO agreement involves the licencing of German, American and British low-level flight tests over Innu territory in Labrador and Quebec. This tape, produced by mail correspondence with Innu representatives is in three parts. The first is an intro to Innu lifestyle before white contact. Next, is the health problems resulting from relocation and pollution. Last is the intrusion of jets training to underfly enemy radar. The sound level is deafening and the tests frightening but the people are fighting back in a struggle for self determination and control over their own lands.
