The Carding Story

Don Bouzek

1984, 10:30 minutes, colour, English

The Carding Story describes the development of a Filipino Canadian cultural group by focusing on the creation of their play Carding: The Plight of an Immigrant. The three principal authors - Bernie Consul, Voltaire de Leon, and Carmencita Hernandez - tell the story of the growth of the Carlos Bulosan Cultural Workshop from a political organization presenting yearly topical skits at the Philipine National Day picnic to a cultural organization involving the community in presenting a drama about their own lives.
