In this experimental dance video a solo performance is interlaced with archival family footage to explore problems of self-representation for a young woman.
Imagery of the dancer’s mother and grandmother figure skating and diving are contrasted with the frenetic movements of the dancer on a paved island in the middle of a busy street. The video is a description of the gap between the idealized images of a young woman’s body and the body which the dancer inhabits.
