Tutifruti: Life & Times in Patagonia

John Orentlicher

2001, 12:45 minutes, colour, English

Taped in the Patagonia of Argentina and Chile, this videotape explores through audio/image juxtaposition influences from airwave technology on a vast and predominantly agrarian landscape. From the Atlantic ocean to the Pacific, market globalization has created a new cultural environment on top of existing traditional culture, which is best described in spanglish as "Tutitfruti", a clash or mix of cultures.
