First Sacrament of the Church of St. Thomas

Peter Kingstone

2003, 10:00 minutes, colour, English

TAPECODE 523.04

This is a documentary of a faux church set up by Saint Thomas. The video describes the first sacrament and baptism of four new members of the church. The baptism takes place in the indoor pool of an apartment building. The camera does not shy away from showing the non-religious actions in the space, like people in the work out room, and people lounging in the hot tub.

The video is a question about searching for happiness. The narrator tells the story of the beginnings of the church, the personal story of the inductees, and tries to convince the viewer that they could find happiness in the Church of Saint Thomas.
