This project is a 14:45 minute colour film, an experimental narrative. The premise of this project is to explore the sometimes problematic nature of black communal dynamics, specifically those between Mothers and Sons. The film will address issues of how a mother's religious faith isolates her from her son and from the changing world around her, and how her son's fixation with the image of beauty and transcending encounters degrades him. The film takes us into the subconscious realm and show how our intimate obsessions can make us overlook the consequences of our actions, and how spiritual, cosmic and the ordinary consciousness contest for balance.
