Away for Christmas

Penny McCann

2004, 04:15 minutes, colour, English

TAPECODE 093.05

An elegiac journey through landscapes of remembrance and forgetting.

Filmed on the train between Montreal and Halifax, passing images evoke a sense of longing for events forever past. Reflecting on the loss of the artist's mother and the home now vanished, Away for Christmas creates an intimate space where the viewer's own longings reflect, shimmer, then just as quickly, vanish.
