Mourning is based on archival footage of a public protest during the funeral of  my brother, who was assassinated, in Athens, in 1986. The sound of Mourning is deliberately muted, raising question about the denial and suppression of the colonized voice and narrative. This work invites viewers to identify with the protesters in the video.

Mourning can be viewed as a single channel video, single channel installation, or a multiple channel installation with Target and A Night at Home.
