Pictures in an Exhibition (6 channel installation)

2013, 20:00 minutes, colour

TAPECODE 1051.13

Can the female feel at home in nature, myth, and on screen, realms where she is so often laid to rest? In a six-channel video installation, Pictures in an Exhibition follows the artist as she negotiates femininity and enacts cultural and art historical tropes, rendering them confused. Pictures is at once humorous, satirical, aesthetic, historical, philosophical, and melancholic; the videos reference art history, mass media, mythology and personal experience. Pictures in an Exhibition exposes the postmodern condition, ultimately arriving at an exhibition of subjectivity.
