“The Oldest Tree in the World” is a love song to the oldest sugar maple in the region, living just outside of Peterborough in Mark S. Burnham Provincial Park. This grandmother tree, one of our oldest living relations, has witnessed over 500 years of history.

The music video was filmed and directed by Cara Mumford and edited by Faisal Lutchmedial. The song, from the album “f(l)ight,” was written and performed by Anishinaabe scholar and storyteller Leanne Simpson, with
musicians Nick Ferrio, Ansley Simpson, Jonas Bonnetta, James Bunton, produced by Jonas Bonnetta, recorded and mixed by James Bunton, mastered by Jeff Elliot (Fedge).
