3890 Boulevard Saint-Ann examines our relationship to the places/buildings/ that we inhabit - that we call home. They are at once familiar and ubiquitous, fulfilling a range of functions that fall within the domain of the personal and societal. In my study of this locality (3890 Boulevard Saint-Ann) I consider the multidimensionality of this place (and by extension other places) as the site where the dialectic between self and object is manifest – one’s domicile may on the one hand be a haven, while on the other hand it may represent a mechanism of constraint – essential, requisite, obligatory, compulsory.
