Blake Williams

Blake Williams currently lives and works in Toronto, ON, but was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Art at Tufts University’s School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. While studying there, he focused on developing a body of work in video, installation, and film, working under filmmaker Louise Bourque, sculptor Mags Harries, and video artists Mary Ellen Strom and Les LeVeque. He earned his Masters of Visual Studies in 2011, working under Lisa Steele, Kim Tomczak, Tanya Mars, and Will Kwan. Blake has screened his single-channel work in the Wavelengths programme at the Toronto International Film Festival; at the Pacific Film Archive in Berkeley, CA; at the Festival de Cannes’ Short Film Corner. Blake has also exhibited video and installation work at Le Wharf – Centre d’art contemporain de Basse-Normandie in France, InterAccess Electronic Media Arts Centre in Toronto, and the Contemporary Art Museum in Houston.
