Edie Steiner is a Toronto filmmaker and photographer, with a PhD in Environmental Studies (York University, 2014). Her personal documentaries, PLACES TO STAY (1999), NORTHLAND (2007), and CONVERSATIONS ON THE LAKE (2014) examine relationships between environment and culture in the rural working-class north, contextualized by themes of place, landscape, and social representation.
