Dawn Matheson
Dawn Matheson is a Guelph-based artist who creates intimate portraits of people and their surroundings through varying mediums including video, audio and print. Her work has enjoyed a national audience (CBC Radio and Television, a national Ed Video compilation and several Canada-wide publications) as well as a keen local one in her hometown of Guelph, especially in her treatment of local history.
She graduated from the University of Toronto with a combined specialist in English and Drama with a minor in Film and completed several video and radio production, journalism, and documentary storytelling workshops. While most of Dawn's employment has been with the CBC, in the past she has had her fair share of jobs, much like any other artist - involving toilet bowl cleaning, telemarketing and dish washing - a sure sign of success.
