Claudia Edwards (he/she/they) is a Toronto-based performance artist, curator and arts worker driven by resource building, community engagement, and supporting underrepresented artists and intergenerational exchange especially. They bring ten years of experience in communications and arts coordination, most recently serving as Archive and Programming Coordinator with FADO Performance Art Centre. Film and video background includes teaching youth and seniors experimental video, and jockeying in a photo lab.
Edwards’ performance practice is rife with queer tricksters, absurd humour, and anticolonial frameworks. Conceptually driven, their approach spans relational performance, experimental dance, photo, video, text, and objects. They have created works for VIVA! Art Action, FADO, Rhubarb Festival, BUZZCUT, and most recently for Festival 7a*11D’s 2025 digital archive residency (7a*mgr8), and have presented performances and workshops at festivals and galleries across Canada, the US, the UK, and online. Curatorial works include HOTWIRE, a live art series featuring QTBIPOC artists hosted by Hub14, and serving on the Rhubarb 2020 curatorial collective. Edwards holds a BFA from Concordia University and is currently Vtape’s Submissions and Communications Coordinator, where they process and catalogue new works in the collection and manage news and social media.
