TAPECODE 903.14

In this three-part short film, filmmaker Kelly O’Brien begins with her daughter Emma’s reflections on her disabled brother Teddy and how she imagines he sees the world. O’Brien then shifts into the past to address the question of how to depict disability on the screen while a young Emma dances around Teddy. Returning to the present, she develops this theme to meditate on the inevitable shortcomings in how we understand other people, asserting the importance of beauty as Emma and Teddy dance joyfully together.
