As part of Our City Our Voices initiative, Writing the Land is a short film that will present a portrait of Larry Grant's relationship to his language. It will chronicle how his linguistic life has come full circle. Grant, a retired longshoreman, stopped using his Cree language 50 years ago. Today he teaches young people about their culture and tries to spark a re-awakening about his ancestral language in his community.
