Healing the Hurts

1989, 60:00 minutes

TAPECODE 3020.00

Healing the Hurts deals with the healing of the wounds in native people who went through the horrifying experience of residential schools in Canada. The schools' aim was to destroy within the individual the last vestiges of native culture and pride in that culture. This form of cultural genocide has left its marks everywhere through the generations of native people. This tape, set at a workshop, shows people going through the healing process, recovering from the atrocities of the residential school system.
