The title, As If by Chance ..., alludes to a card game, evidence of which was found by the police after a Toronto art centre was closed by the City. A voice-over tells us that Natasha, the Centre's founder, (surname unknown), has disappeared, and is now officially designated a missing person. We know that she would invite players young and old to choose cards they liked from a special deck she had designed, each card with a single word on its back. Then, turning their cards over, they would discover unexpected words that told them what to paint. Video fragments discovered on the premises includes instances of children and elders describing in detail to each other what they had made. The police investigation continues.
