Droit divin, Le (The Divine Right)

1985, 12:00 minutes, colour, French & English

TAPECODE 9999.026

This work was done in real time, as a series of improvised dramatic moments for the camera. We see someone in a Los Angeles King's hockey sweater cover the crown emblem with a white cloth, plus various shots of windows, the street below, the loft where the action takes place. We hear a narrator. He tells us about regicide, the archaic act of killing the king when he grows ill or feeble.
The tape is "processed" using the system at the Experimental Television Centre in Owego, N.Y.
