Hot Flash

Barbara Hammer

1989, 20:00 minutes

A dramatic comedy about a menopausal matriarch and her lover, a woman of forty, who pretends to be "flashing" in order to join a society for older women: Hot Flash. As the Hot Flashes recruit other grey-hairs, the consciousness of the older women in the group increases and the young pretender is ousted. This tape raises issues of aging, bodily functions and lesbian relationships.
