Obsession - Queen of Heaven

Judy Cheung

1994, 10:00 minutes, colour, B&W, English

This tape is a meditation on death, memory and the inherent feminization of emotional truth, juxtaposed with narrative, ambiguous text and intimate portraits of two females. This experimental video attempts to explore fragments of human perceptual relationships, that is, female vs. male, female vs. female. Metaphorically, the artist suggests that, despite differences of views women "are living in accordance with the moon's cycle". Let us celebrate the existing biological experience by calling it "The Queen of Heaven".
