Precious Little

Karen Houle

1994, 28:00 minutes, colour, English

An experimental feminist documentary exploring the memories and relations between mothers, daughters and grandmothers with respect to sexuality as lived experience. Through a series of frank interviews, women reveal the messages and lessons they inherited from their foremothers about body image, menstruation, breastfeeding, masturbation and how these are ultimately tied to our own shame and joy. Sometimes shocking, layered with bold and evocative images, Precious Little creates a space for honest discourse around a complex issue that deeply affects us all, men and women.
