Lighting the Seventh Fire

1994, 47:30 minutes

TAPECODE 3070.06

This program weaves together spear fishing treaty rights issues in Wisconsin, the Chippewa prophecy of the Seventh Fire, and profiles of some of the people helping to bring back the tradition of spear fishing. This video captures a highly significant historical transition and it is the first program in the United States that vividly documents contemporary racism against Native Americans.
