Where's the Point...? Prt.3 of A Triptych
Christopher McNamara and Dermot Wilson
1993, 08:00 minutes, colour, English
TAPECODE 898.02
A play-by-play action video of sorts, a second look at everyday "truths" and irrefutable directions. A visual exercise in the futility of describing the unseen and the never-been-to. The main images in this final "panel" are framed by scrolling skin, pink and hairy and sometimes smooth. The action cuts between a live-eye reporter who never quite gets started and a tireless, but always lost, person-on-the-street interviewer. While a narrative concerning two teams engaged in a fictional sport becomes something like poetry, a parade of people and decrepit modes of movement passes by. A final shot, dark and European, "dramatically" sews together the loose threads hanging off this video triptych.
