I Dream of Baba

Nancy Hallas and Rick Leroux

1994, 03:00 minutes, colour, English

A short video about the connections between a Ukrainian grandmother and a field of Ontario wildflowers.
I dream of Baba, my Ukrainian grandmother, lying in a summer field. Ten thousand wildflowers... I breathe deeply the sweet scent. A hot June breeze brushes my face. I am in the field beside her. She is laughing. We play a game, calling out the wildflower names. She tells me where they are from. Like Baba, many are immigrants to Canada. I try but I can't imagine a field without them. The whole world is in the field. That is how I dream of Baba.
