Reportage Brésil

1986, 15:00 minutes, colour, French/English

TAPECODE 9284

In 1985, Sao Paulo, Brazil opened a police station completely run and operated by plainclothed but armed women. Today 25 stations are in operation, handling primarily problems of family violence and sexual assault. They also offer social and legal assistance - the first time women in Brazil have had any access to these vital services. A positive and powerful document, Reportage Brésil has been purchased by many universities.
